Key Facts:
Indian Coast Guard ship Adamya, the first in a series of eight Adamya-class fast patrol vessels, was commissioned at Paradip Port ,the 51-metre-long vessel has more than 60% indigenous content.
The ship displaces approximately 320 tonnes and is propelled by two 3,000 KW diesel engines to attain a maximum speed of 28 Knots. She has an endurance of 1,500 nm at economical speed,
Technological Milestones:

First ICG ship fitted with indigenously developed Controllable Pitch Propellers (CPPs) and gearboxes.

Enhances manoeuvrability, operational flexibility, and performance at sea.
Strategic Role:

Strengthens coastal surveillance, patrolling, anti-smuggling, and search & rescue (SAR) operations.

Adds to India’s maritime security architecture, especially in the Bay of Bengal region.
