Context:

  • Launched by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.

  • Part of the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.

  • A nationwide innovation movement set to engage students from schools having classes 6 -12.

  • This would be India’s largest-ever student innovation initiative and an important step towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

Objectives

  • Foster creativity, problem-solving, and innovation among students.

  • Provide a national platform to showcase ideas and prototypes.

  • Align school-level learning with NEP 2020’s focus on experiential and skill-based education.

  • Encourage inclusive participation (Aspirational Districts, Tribal and Remote Regions).

  • Contribute to the goal of a self-reliant and developed India by 2047.

Themes of Innovation

  1. Atmanirbhar Bharat – Building self-reliant systems and solutions.

  2. Swadeshi – Fostering indigenous ideas and innovation.

  3. Vocal for Local – Promoting local products, crafts, and resources.

  4. Samriddhi – Creating pathways to prosperity and sustainable growth.

  • Encourages grassroots innovation in schools.

  • Strengthens local problem-solving capacity.

  • Builds a pipeline of young innovators and entrepreneurs.
